Miller Worsley Expedition
Wasaga Under Siege and the Meaford Museum are pleased to present the
Miller Worsley Expedition.

This FREE family event starts in Meaford on Monday, August 11 and ends in
Wasaga Beach on Thursday, August 14.

The fun begins at 2:00 pm with crafts, stories, and activities with the Meaford
Museum and the Meaford Public Library at the Meaford Rotary Pavilion.

The program continues from 6:00-8:00 pm with a lively reenactment
presented by actors in traditional War of 1812 soldier attire. Join us for
dueling demonstrations, cannon firing, candy cannon, and also wartime
surgical demonstrations (please see the attached schedule for more
information). PLUS, the boats will be docked at the Harbour and available for
viewing during the event. That evening, the traditional encampment will be set
up at the Pavilion area where the soldiers will be camping overnight. The next
morning, we bid farewell as the soldiers sail out of the Meaford Harbour on
their journey to Thornbury.

This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the War of 1812 and the
life of a soldier. A great event you will not want to miss!

Spoke & Bustle
This popular event celebrates our settlers and the days of steam power, chores and the crafts of yesteryear. The word Spoke represents the wheels on machinery and denotes the work traditionally done by men. Bustle, an integral part of a womans dress from that era, represents the work that was historically done by women.
Our Spoke and Bustle will feature various steam traction engines and motors, vintage tractors, hit and miss engines, classic cars, historic demonstrations, childrens games and more, all evoking fond memories of days ago. Bring the whole family for a living history experience! Regular admission rates apply.
